What does a super midsize jet fit?

What does a heavy jet fit?

Heavy jets cover large-cabin aircraft for longer domestic and international missions, substantial baggage and multiple cabin zones. Model range examples run 3,500 to 7,700 nm with 9 to 17 published seats, in a large stand-up cabin. Large, long-range and ultra-long-range are overlapping market labels, not certification standards. How should I choose between Haneda and Narita for a private flight?

Start with the exact airports: Tokyo Haneda is RJTT and Narita is RJAA. Both publish dedicated business-aviation information, so the better choice depends on the passenger's ground destination and the permissions, hours, and handling confirmed for the proposed trip. [2][3]

Confirm the requested Tokyo address, local departure time and timezone first; then have the direct air carrier verify the trip-specific operating plan.

Which New York airport should I use for a private flight?

It depends on the ground itinerary. Teterboro (TEB) is commonly evaluated for Manhattan and North Jersey, Westchester County (HPN) for Westchester and parts of lower Connecticut, LaGuardia (LGA) and JFK for Queens or airline connections, and Long Island MacArthur (ISP) for Long Island. [17]

Should I use a Jet Card or request one-off charter?

Jet Partners publishes a 25-hour Jet Card program with cabin options and written program terms; on-demand charter is requested trip by trip. Neither is universally cheaper—the useful comparison is the written terms against your expected routes, dates, cabin needs, and flexibility. [4][5]

How is a private charter price built?

Jet Partners' pricing guide starts with the aircraft charge (billable hours times a cabin-class range), adds a positioning allowance, an allowance for ordinary airport, handling and trip fees, then applies federal taxes. The guide's example for Teterboro to Miami-Opa locka in a light jet shows a whole-aircraft planning range of $19,500 to $36,500 for 6 passengers, one way. [7]

Send every provider the same itinerary and compare written totals line by line, including positioning, minimums and conditional charges.

The example is a planning estimate, not a live quote or an aircraft reservation. A written proposal controls the final price.

What are the planning ranges by cabin class?

The pricing guide lists whole-aircraft planning ranges per billable hour: Light $6,800 to $9,900, Midsize $7,750 to $10,800, Super Midsize $9,500 to $13,000, Heavy / Long Range $11,500 to $16,700, Ultra Long Range $15,200 to $18,500. Rates use a two-hour billable minimum. [7]

Is private jet charter priced per person?

No. Prices cover the whole aircraft. Dividing a whole-aircraft estimate by the number of travelers gives a budgeting figure only; individual seats are not offered for sale. [7]

If you want to split cost, agree on the allocation among travelers before you request a proposal.

Changing the passenger count can also change taxes, baggage capacity and the aircraft needed.

Why can a short flight cost more than its flight time?

A short flight may be billed at a minimum rather than its actual duration. The pricing guide applies a two-hour minimum in its calculator, so a 0.75 to 0.92 hour Van Nuys to Las Vegas light jet trip is still priced at two billable hours before fees and taxes. [7]

Ask whether a quote applies a minimum per flight, per day, or across the itinerary, especially if the aircraft waits for you.

What taxes and fees apply to a charter?

The guide models 7.5% Federal Excise Tax on U.S. domestic transportation, a 2026 domestic segment tax of $5.30 per passenger per taxable segment, and a $23.40 per passenger international facilities tax for qualifying international arrivals or departures. A Passenger Facility Charge of up to $4.50 may apply only when the airport and flight are eligible. Airport, handling, deicing, permits and catering depend on the trip. [7]

Is a round trip cheaper than two one-way charters?

It depends on the aircraft's schedule. For a same-day return, ask whether the same aircraft can wait and avoid extra positioning. For a multi-day stay, compare keeping the aircraft and crew nearby against separate one-way flights. [7]

Give both departure and return dates when you ask, so the proposal can price the actual routing.

What is an empty leg and how is it different?

An empty leg is a one-way repositioning flight that may be offered for a particular route and timing window. The economics can be attractive, but the schedule is less flexible and the opportunity can change if the underlying mission changes. Jet Partners lets you search by airport, flexible dates and group size, then request current availability. [7][16]

What does the Jet Card cost for 25 hours?

The published 25-hour Jet Card totals, including 7.5% Federal Excise Tax, are $174,687.50 for Light, $208,281.25 for Mid, $255,312.50 for Super-Mid and $335,937.50 for Heavy, for the Continental U.S. plus 200 nautical miles. The pricing schedule was reviewed August 25, 2026. [4]

What should a written private charter quote include?

A useful request identifies exact airports, dates, local times with timezones, trip type, passenger count, luggage or cabin needs, and contact details. [5] Before purchase, confirm the direct air carrier's identity, the capacity in which the charter arranger acts, and the disclosed total cost with applicable taxes and fees. [6]

Review the aircraft and operator details supplied for the actual trip, then ask about any item that is conditional or excluded before accepting.

How do I compare charter quotes?

Send each provider the same trip, then check four things: same trip (airports, local dates and times, passengers, baggage), same aircraft scope (aircraft, cabin, direct air carrier, substitution terms), same total (taxes, positioning, minimums, airport charges), and what can still change (validity, payment, cancellation, substitution). Resolve differences between proposals before choosing, rather than comparing headline hourly rates.

Can I request a private jet at the last minute?

Yes. Jet Partners can accept a short-notice request and coordinate a search. Aircraft availability, carrier acceptance, crew, airports, weather and timing still have to be evaluated, so a request does not promise a departure. A nearby alternate airport may add options if it works for your ground plan. [9]

Can I charter a private flight for 20 or more passengers?

Yes, through group charter. Aircraft choice depends on the route, passenger count, baggage, schedule and required assistance. For 30 or more passengers, send route, dates, passenger count, baggage, equipment and assistance needs, and the proposal identifies the aircraft configuration and operating carrier. [10]

What happens after I request a charter quote?

The mission is defined first (route, dates, passengers, baggage, preferences). The proposal names the direct air carrier, and Jet Partners may review available carrier, aircraft, crew and insurance information, then explains what was reviewed and what remains subject to confirmation before you accept. Safety

Is Jet Partners an airline?

No. Jet Partners acts as a charter services arranger under 14 CFR Part 295. It is not a direct air carrier, does not operate aircraft and does not exercise operational control. A properly licensed direct air carrier identified for the trip provides the flight and retains operational control. [8][10]

Ask for the legal name of the direct air carrier on any proposal.

What does operational control mean?

Operational control belongs to the direct air carrier. It controls aircraft and crew assignment, maintenance and airworthiness, weather acceptance, routing, fuel and alternate planning, duty limits, delays, diversions, and the final decision to operate. [8]

Ask which carrier will exercise operational control for your flight.

How can I check that a charter operator is authorized?

For a U.S. charter, ask for the proposed direct carrier's Air Carrier or Operating Certificate, and ask whether the proposed aircraft is authorized for the operation. The FAA provides an air-operator search and recommends confirming both the operator and the aircraft. [8]

Also ask what third-party reports, insurance evidence and crew information are available for your proposal.

What do ARGUS, WYVERN and IS-BAO mean?

They are different things. FAA Part 135 authority is the regulatory baseline for the carrier. ARGUS and WYVERN provide independent operator or trip-level information through different products. IS-BAO is a voluntary operating-practices standard and does not replace a carrier's required authority. [8]

Can a pet travel in the cabin on a private jet?

A cabin request can be evaluated, but it is not automatically approved. The selected direct air carrier must accept the animal and the proposed arrangement for the specific aircraft, airports, itinerary and current conditions, and confirm any requirements in writing. [18]

Include the animal type, breed when relevant, age, weight, approximate dimensions, temperament, carrier or crate details, the complete itinerary and document status in your request.

What documents does a pet need for private travel?

Requirements are set by the destination and can include a microchip, vaccinations, tests, treatments, permits and a veterinary health certificate that may need USDA endorsement. Travel between U.S. states may also require documents, since receiving states and territories set their own animal-health rules. [18]

Are private jets wheelchair accessible?

There is no universal yes or no. Aircraft dimensions and configurations vary, as do airport equipment and direct air carrier procedures. Accessibility has to be evaluated for the passenger, the mobility device, the airports, the proposed aircraft and the selected carrier, then confirmed in writing. Do not assume a personal wheelchair is approved as an onboard seat. [19]
