The Cessna Grand Caravan EX is the current high-power Model 208B utility turboprop, combining a configurable passenger cabin and large cargo door with stronger hot-and-high and climb performance than the preceding Grand Caravan. It is relevant for regional charter, resort transfers and remote-access missions, but aircraft configuration, permitted passenger count, runway or surface suitability and the usable payload must be established by the direct carrier for the actual trip.
Why the Cessna Grand Caravan EX remains a charter consideration
Cessna began Grand Caravan EX deliveries in 2013 after installing the 867-shaft-horsepower Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-140, and the manufacturer documents an average cruise improvement of roughly ten to twelve knots plus materially better climb and takeoff performance over the previous Grand Caravan. The EX remains in production with Garmin G1000 NXi, while landplane, cargo-pod and amphibious configurations carry different baggage and performance figures and must not be blended in a charter presentation.
Variant note. The 912-nm and 185-KTAS figures are current landplane references; the Grand Caravan EX Amphibian has different published range, cruise, baggage and runway or water-performance figures.

Only a current written proposal confirms the aircraft, direct carrier, inclusions, conditional charges and total trip price.
Inside the Cessna Grand Caravan EX
Textron offers commuter, club and premium interiors across a cabin 16 feet 9 inches long, 5 feet 4 inches wide and 4 feet 6 inches high, with ten- through fourteen-occupant configurations depending on local regulation and common executive charter layouts using fewer seats. Approximately 340 cubic feet lies aft of the pilot seats, while the larger 427-cubic-foot measure also counts the cockpit and aft baggage area; the broad rectangular section, large windows, wide cargo door and flexible floor support people, luggage or mixed loads, and the current landplane specification lists 143 cubic feet of baggage volume with the relevant pod configuration. Seat ergonomics, tables, refreshment storage, USB power, cabin finish and climate provisions still depend on the offered aircraft.
- Seat configuration
- 10–14 occupants in manufacturer configurations, subject to local regulation; executive charter layouts commonly use fewer seats
- Cabin volume
- Approximately 340 cu ft aft of the pilot seats; 427 cu ft including cockpit and aft baggage areas
- Cabin dimensions
- 16 ft 9 in long × 5 ft 4 in wide × 4 ft 6 in high
- Baggage capacity
- 143 cu ft in the current landplane specification
Published value reflects the relevant landplane and pod configuration; amphibian volume is 100.1 cu ft, and load distribution controls usable charter capacity.

Cessna Grand Caravan EX range, cruise speed and flight deck
Textron publishes 185 KTAS maximum cruise and 912 nautical miles maximum range for the current Grand Caravan EX landplane with the cargo pod, with range based on a long-range-cruise ferry mission and a forty-five-minute VFR reserve rather than a passenger charter payload. The single PT6A-140, strut-braced high wing and rugged fixed landing gear define the utility configuration, while propeller installation requires aircraft-specific confirmation and Garmin G1000 NXi is the current integrated flight deck.
- Range reference
- Up to 912 nm
- Textron landplane ferry mission at long-range cruise with a 45-minute VFR reserve; passenger missions require separate planning.
- Cruise speed reference
- Up to 185 KTAS
- Textron maximum-cruise specification for the landplane; not trip-average or block speed.
- Engines and efficiency context
- One Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-140 turboprop rated at 867 shp
- Installed engine standard, thrust setting, altitude, payload and cruise profile determine fuel burn; the model-level engine identity is not a trip fuel-consumption guarantee.
- Avionics
- Garmin G1000 NXi integrated flight deck in current production configuration
- Aerodynamic design
- Strut-braced high wing with rugged fixed landing gear; propeller configuration requires aircraft-specific confirmation

Is the Cessna Grand Caravan EX right for your charter?
The Grand Caravan EX can suit island, mountain, safari, remote-business and group transfers where direct airport access and flexible loading are more valuable than high cruise speed. Jet Partners keeps the model quote-only and will require a licensed direct carrier to identify landplane or amphibious configuration, passenger authorization, cargo-pod installation, runway and surface approval, weather limits, luggage, crew and written terms before confirming the trip.
Jet Partners compares trip-specific proposals as an air charter broker.
Confirm these details in writing
- Aircraft, cabin layout, passenger count and baggage fit.
- Named direct air carrier and available trip-specific safety information.
- Runway, payload, weather, routing and possible technical-stop limits.
- Total price, inclusions, conditional charges and cancellation terms.
The properly licensed direct air carrier identified in the proposal retains operational control and makes the final flight-operational decisions.
