The Citation CJ4 is the largest current member of Cessna's CJ light-jet line and is often considered when a traveler wants strong light-jet speed, a longer cabin and useful baggage capacity without moving into a midsize category. Why the Cessna Citation CJ4 remains a charter consideration

The CJ4 entered service in 2010 as the Model 525C, combining the Citation CJ operating concept with a swept wing influenced by the larger Sovereign and more powerful Williams engines. Gen2 cabin updates followed. Textron still described the Garmin G3000 PRIME-equipped CJ4 Gen3 as upcoming and working toward FAA certification in August 2026.

Charter planning should therefore use an identified in-service CJ4 or Gen2 tail.

Textron publishes 2,165 nautical miles of maximum range and 451 KTAS maximum cruise for the in-service CJ4 Gen2 under stated conditions. Two Williams FJ44-4A engines, a moderately swept wing and Collins Pro Line 21 avionics define that reference. The upcoming Gen3 changes the flight deck to Garmin G3000 PRIME.
