The Legacy 450 is a modern, flat-floor executive jet considered for charter when a smaller party wants a six-foot stand-up cabin, fly-by-wire ride control and strong transcontinental reach. It sits between traditional midsize and super-midsize labels, so selection should follow the actual mission and cabin rather than category naming alone.
Why the Legacy 450 remains a charter consideration
Embraer certified the Legacy 450 in 2015 and subsequently increased its published range to 2,900 nautical miles. The aircraft shares its cabin cross-section, Collins Pro Line Fusion flight deck and full fly-by-wire architecture with the longer Legacy 500; the later Praetor 500 evolved the platform with additional fuel and redesigned winglets rather than making every Legacy 450 identical to a Praetor.
Variant note. Early Legacy 450 references show shorter range before Embraer's certified fuel-capacity enhancement. Praetor 500 winglets, higher thrust, greater range and current-generation cabin options are not assumed on a Legacy 450.

Inside the Legacy 450
The standard cabin uses seven executive seats and approved configurations can reach nine, with fully berthing club seats, a flat aisle, folding tables, a forward refreshment or galley area and an enclosed aft lavatory. Legacy 450 range, cruise speed and flight deck
The enhanced-range Legacy 450 is published at 2,900 nautical miles with four passengers and NBAA IFR reserves, while the normalized high-speed-cruise reference is 462 KTAS. Two Honeywell HTF7500E turbofans, Collins Pro Line Fusion avionics, full fly-by-wire controls and a swept low wing define the type. The direct carrier must account for payload, winds, runway, route and reserves on the requested day.
- Range reference
- Up to 2,900 nm
- Enhanced-range certification reference with four passengers and NBAA IFR reserves; early aircraft require modification-status confirmation.
- Cruise speed reference
- Up to 462 KTAS
- Manufacturer high-speed-cruise reference at FL430, ISA, four 200-lb passengers and half fuel; not block speed.
- Engines and efficiency context
- Two Honeywell HTF7500E turbofans
- Installed engine standard, thrust setting, altitude, payload and cruise profile determine fuel burn; the model-level engine identity is not a trip fuel-consumption guarantee.
- Avionics
- Collins Pro Line Fusion integrated flight deck
- Aerodynamic design
- Swept low wing with full fly-by-wire controls

Is the Legacy 450 right for your charter?
A Legacy 450 can be well matched to a seven-person cross-country mission where stand-up height, flat-floor ergonomics and internal baggage access matter. Jet Partners can compare Legacy 450 and Praetor 500 proposals, but must identify the actual aircraft and direct carrier and confirm every required cabin feature, operational limit, firm price and term before booking.
