The Global Express XRS is a large-cabin, ultra-long-range jet selected for charter when travelers need three cabin zones, substantial internal baggage and long overwater or intercontinental planning capability. It predates the Global 6000 name and newer Vision flight deck, so the XRS designation should not be used to imply later avionics or cabin systems without inspecting the specific aircraft.
Why the Global Express XRS remains a charter consideration
Bombardier introduced the XRS as an enhanced Global Express in the mid-2000s, increasing range and improving operational flexibility while retaining the Global family's wide fuselage and Rolls-Royce power. The XRS production era ended as Bombardier transitioned the line to the Global 6000 name and cabin package around 2011–2012, leaving in-service aircraft whose avionics, completions and retrofit histories now vary considerably.

Inside the Global Express XRS
The Bombardier reference cabin is approximately 48 feet 4 inches long, 8 feet 2 inches wide and 6 feet 3 inches high, with about 2,140 cubic feet of volume and roughly 195 cubic feet of in-flight-accessible baggage space. Typical thirteen- to sixteen-passenger layouts create club, conference/dining and private aft lounge zones, often with a crew-rest area, full galley and two lavatories; cabin windows and layered lighting support daytime comfort, while Wi-Fi, monitors, power, office equipment and sleeping positions remain completion- and tail-specific.
- Seat configuration
- Typically 13–16 in executive charter layouts; approved configurations can carry up to 19
- Cabin volume
- Approximately 2,140 cu ft
- Cabin dimensions
- Approximately 48 ft 4 in long × Approximately 8 ft 2 in wide × Approximately 6 ft 3 in high

Global Express XRS range, cruise speed and flight deck
The XRS manufacturer fact sheet cites approximately 6,150 nautical miles at Mach 0.85 with eight passengers, four crew and NBAA IFR reserves, and publishes Mach 0.89 or about 513 knots as a high-speed reference. Two Rolls-Royce BR710A2-20 turbofans, Honeywell Primus 2000XP avionics and a swept low wing define the original platform; installed aerodynamic equipment requires exact-variant and tail-level confirmation, and actual nonstop capability depends on outfitting weight, payload, route, weather and reserve policy.
- Range reference
- Up to approximately 6,150 nm at Mach 0.85
- Bombardier reference with 8 passengers, 4 crew and NBAA IFR reserves under stated conditions; actual route capability varies.
- Cruise speed reference
- Approximately 488–513 KTAS at typical to high-speed cruise
- Bombardier XRS Mach 0.85 typical and published 513-knot high-speed references; not block speed.
- Engines and efficiency context
- Two Rolls-Royce BR710A2-20 turbofans
- Installed engine standard, thrust setting, altitude, payload and cruise profile determine fuel burn; the model-level engine identity is not a trip fuel-consumption guarantee.
- Avionics
- Honeywell Primus 2000XP in the original configuration; HUD, enhanced vision, navigation and display upgrades vary by tail
- Aerodynamic design
- Swept low wing; installed aerodynamic equipment requires exact-variant and aircraft-level confirmation
