This directory profile groups the Citation V and Citation Ultra, related Model 560 light jets with a longer cabin than the Citation II and a trip profile that can be considered for regional charter. Because the Ultra introduced more powerful engines and updated systems, one blended headline figure would obscure meaningful differences between the two variants.
Why the Cessna Citation V/Ultra remains a charter consideration
The Citation V received FAA certification in 1988 and entered the market as a stretched development of Cessna's straight-wing Citation line. The Citation Ultra followed in the 1990s with higher-thrust JT15D-5D engines and updated avionics, and the same basic lineage later produced the Encore and Encore+. Surviving V and Ultra charter aircraft now span many refurbishment and retrofit standards.
Variant note. Citation V and Citation Ultra aircraft differ in engines, avionics and performance. Every figure is shown as a family range unless the variant is named.
3D tour identity. The 3D experience is a representative Cessna Citation V 560 family tour. Cabin layout, finishes and equipment may differ from the exact Cessna Citation V/Ultra aircraft proposed for charter.

Inside the Cessna Citation V/Ultra
The family cabin is approximately 17 feet 4 inches long, 4 feet 9 inches wide and 4 feet 7 to 9 inches high, with about 292 cubic feet of volume. Six- and seven-seat executive arrangements commonly include club tables, a compact refreshment cabinet and an aft lavatory. Windows provide light beside the main seats.
Baggage is often published near 67 cubic feet combined. However, exact seating ergonomics, lavatory enclosure, outlets, Wi-Fi, cabinetry and loading access depend on variant and tail.
- Seat configuration
- Typically 6–7 executive seats; up to 8 reference passenger positions by layout

- Cabin dimensions
- 17 ft 4 in long × Approximately 4 ft 9 in wide × Approximately 4 ft 7–9 in high

Cessna Citation V/Ultra range, cruise speed and flight deck
AOPA's Citation V technical profile publishes 1,960 nautical miles and 425 KTAS. Business & Commercial Aviation's Citation Ultra analysis describes more than 1,400 nautical miles at over 400 knots and a roughly 420-to-430-KTAS maximum-cruise envelope. Both use JT15D-5-series engines but with different ratings, and Ultra aircraft introduced Honeywell Primus 1000-era avionics.
The differing source conditions make the exact variant and direct carrier's payload calculation decisive.
- Range reference
- More than 1,400 nm for the reviewed Ultra profile; up to 1,960 nm for the Citation V reference
- Variant-specific technical-publisher references with different payload, cruise and reserve conditions.
- Cruise speed reference
- Approximately 425 KTAS for the Citation V; 420–430 KTAS maximum cruise for the Ultra
- AOPA Citation V and B/CA Citation Ultra technical references; not average trip groundspeed.
- Engines and efficiency context
- Two Pratt & Whitney Canada JT15D-5-series turbofans; ratings differ between V and Ultra
- Fuel use depends on the installed engines, thrust, altitude, payload and cruise settings. An engine model alone does not predict trip fuel use.
- Avionics
- Variant- and tail-dependent; Ultra aircraft commonly use Honeywell Primus 1000-era systems with later retrofits possible
- Aerodynamic design
- Stretched straight-wing Model 560 airframe with aft-mounted engines and field-performance emphasis

Is the Cessna Citation V/Ultra right for your charter?
A Citation V or Ultra may serve a regional business or leisure trip that needs a longer light-jet cabin and moderate baggage capacity. Ask Jet Partners to identify the exact variant, manufacture year, refurbishment, avionics, seat map and amenities in the written direct-carrier proposal so the comparison does not depend on a combined family label.
Jet Partners compares trip-specific proposals as an air charter broker.
Confirm these details in writing
- Aircraft, cabin layout, passenger count and baggage fit.
- Named direct air carrier and available trip-specific safety information.
- Runway, payload, weather, routing and possible technical-stop limits.
- Total price, inclusions, conditional charges and cancellation terms.
The properly licensed direct air carrier identified in the proposal retains operational control and makes the final flight-operational decisions.
