Automatic Terminal Information Service (ATIS) can provide recurring airport information such as weather, runway use, and other items selected for the broadcast. An identifying code helps pilots tell air traffic control which edition they received. Delivery and content can vary by facility, and recorded or digital information can be superseded.
Pilots and operators must use the current official sources, charts, notices, procedures, training, and air-traffic instructions applicable to the operation. Receiving ATIS does not by itself establish runway suitability, clearance, aircraft performance, or a safety outcome.
