When it comes to celebrity families, no one racks up more jet card miles than the Jolie-Pitts. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are Hollywood’s favorite pair of actors, parents, and humanitarians, and they’re also both certified to fly private jets. That’s fitting for a couple who adopted children from three different countries and own homes in France and Los Angeles.

In fact, rumors once swirled that Brad bought a pre-owned jet for his partner, who became an instrument-rated private pilot in Great Britain in 2007. Brad also has a pilot’s license, but neither will fly with their children in tow unless they’ve had recent experience at the controls.

Last summer, Angelina and Brad worked simultaneously for the first time in their seven-year relationship. While she directed Unbroken in Australia and Hawaii, he starred in Fury in the United Kingdom. Private jets allowed them to make up for their broken parenting pact: instead of taking turns with their six children as usual, they decided to jet back and forth between continents all summer long.

During one whirlwind week in August, Angelina brought her children from Australia to Tokyo, where they stayed with dad Brad until he brought them back to the Land Down Under for another family getaway the very next weekend. There’s apparently no such thing as jet lag for these international travelers.

Angelina reportedly earned her pilot’s license in order to carry out aid missions for the United Nations. Now, she uses every opportunity to expose her children to the same worthy causes, and private jets allow her to do that. She took son Pax from Los Angeles to New York for her appearance before the United Nations Security Council, where she discussed war crimes that affect women and children. She also invited daughter Zahara to the Netherlands, to attend war crime trials in the International Criminal Court in The Hague. A year later, Zahara and son Maddox even tagged along for a flight from Los Angeles to London, where their mother met up with UK Foreign Secretary William Hague.

More families are choosing to charter in 2014, but for the Jolie-Pitts, private wings have always granted them the freedom to travel as a family unit (and make pit stops to support good causes along the way).

Brad and Angelina, Hollywood’s Most Frequent Flyers

Recently, Instagram superstar, professional poker player, actor and playboy Dan Bilzerian announced his purchase of a 1988 Gulfstream IV private jet.

“I told my Dad I bought this G4, he said ‘congratulations son, by your age I had 3’” was Dan’s caption on the picture he uploaded, showing his family is no stranger to Gulfstream Jets.

Although the aircraft is not brand new, Gulfstream IV heavy jets are known for holding their value and as you can see by the pictures below, this one has obviously been refurbished over the years.

Dan Bilzerian was a topic of our blog “#The CharterKings of Instagram” but now has stepped it up from Charter Customer to Aircraft Owner.

Below you can see pictures of his new private jet courtesy of JetNet:

Dan Bilzerian has Good Taste in Jets

Gulfsream IV jets are know as reliable, safe and spacious aircraft.  With a range of 4,200 miles + and seating for up to 20 passenger (depending on the configuration), the G IV will be the perfect aircraft for Mr. Bilzerian to travel with his entourage, mostly consisting of beautiful women who will undoubtedly be more than comfortable on an aircraft know for having spacious and luxurious accommodations.

It’s safe to say that his is one of the more interesting accounts on Instagram. Now with the acquisition of this Gulfstream, we expect even more private jet related photos to populate his news feed.  If the nature of his past postings are any indication of what’s to come, one can only imagine what kind of parties will be happening at 40,000 feet.

As an aircraft owner, Mr. Bilzerian will also have the option of hiring a flight attendant of his choice.  For the sake of his Instagram followers, which now number close to 5 million, we hope Dan will continue to upload more entertaining content.  This should be an easier feat as anyone who owns a Gulfstream or similar private jet knows, the world becomes a much smaller place when you have the ability to travel any place on the globe with little to no notice.

Fly Like You Own a Jet

For those who don’t wish or need to own a jet, you can still travel as though you do.  Just as Dan Bilzerian had previously done, chartering a private jet offers all the same convenience without the associated costs or commitment of owning an aircraft.  Jet Partners offers on demand charters as well as Jet Cards in 25 hour increments.

On 6/16/2015 Donald Trump announced that he will be running for President in 2016.  The 69-year-old Billionaire has been no stranger to the world of politics.  He has often voiced his opinion on everything from abortion and gun control to calling President Obama’s citizenship into question.  At one point even offering to donate $5 Million to the charity of his choice if Obama would produce his birth certificate.

Although he has frequently expressed a desire to run for Governor and President as far back as 1988, this is the first time he has officially announced himself for candidacy.

The Republican from New York can certainly afford to fund his own campaign and claims he will not be paying for it with donations. “I don’t need anybody’s money. It’s nice, I’m not using donors. I don’t care. I’m rich.” The question remains, which of his private jets will he use on the campaign trail?

Donald Trump owns a 1997 Citation X super mid-size jet and a 1991 Boeing 757-200 luxury airliner:

(Watch the video below to see inside Mr. Trump’s 757)

The Citation X is the fastest business jet on the market however it only seats 8 passengers. It can also land at shorter runways than the larger Boeing, but the 757 has much more seating.   Assuming Mr. Trump will travel with an entourage of campaign advisers, assistants and workers he will probably be using the 757.

According to Flightaware.com the Boeing private jet owned by Donald Trump departed for Des Moines, Iowa just several hours after his announcement.  He also plans on taking trips to New Hampshire and South Carolina later in the week kicking off his campaigning early.

Trump Flight Tracking

Trump is no stranger to self-promotion, as is evident by the paint job on his 757, so campaigning for President should come as 2nd nature to the real estate tycoon.  If he does succeed in winning the upcoming election, Air Force 1 may be getting a Trump paint job.  So does the Donald have what it takes to win an election in 2016?  Only time will tell, but one thing is for certain, he has the means to create a memorable if not effective campaign.

A look at possible travel plans to watch the Run for the Roses and the big fight

The Floyd Mayweather Jr.-Manny Pacquiao bout and the Kentucky Derby are two of the most highly-anticipated sports events of the year. They also happen to be taking place on the same day (May 2), separated by about five hours and more than 1,500 miles, making it all but impossible to attend both.

Or is it? It actually is possible to achieve a sports fan’s dream day. The only catch is you’ll need a private plane and something that’s even more difficult to track down: a ticket to the fight.

The post time for the Kentucky Derby is set for 6:24 p.m. ET. Louisville International Airport is only a couple of miles away from Churchill Downs. So an extravagant go-getter could bolt immediately after the race and catch a 7:15 p.m. private flight. This might be the preferred travel plan for Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, a Derby day fixture in recent years who told Mayweather he’s planning to attend the fight. A representative for Brady didn’t respond to a request for comment.

XsmEBC5

Erik Hocoluk, managing partner for Jet Partners, said the flight would take approximately four hours. That would mean an arrival in Las Vegas at 8:15 p.m. PT—as bouts on the Mayweather-Pacquiao undercard are underway. Depending on the exact model of the plane a client preferred, Hocoluk said, the cost could range between $25,000-$35,000. His company has clients flying from the New York area to both events, he said. But nobody, as of Friday afternoon, had contracted to fly between Louisville and Las Vegas next Saturday.

Without private planes, though, it’s still possible to catch a few of the Derby day races at Churchill Downs and still make it for the fight. It’s just impossible to watch both the Run for the Roses and the main event in the MGM Grand. The cheapest option, as of Friday afternoon, would be a $194 flight that leaves Louisville at 3:56 p.m. ET, stops in Atlanta, and eventually arrives in Las Vegas at 7:45 p.m. PT. A more mid-rate option—and the only logical nonstop flight—would cost $361. It departs at 4:20 p.m. ET and arrives at 5:25 p.m. PT, leaving plenty of time for a pre-fight dinner.

But even those cheaper options would still end up costing thousands of dollars. The cheapest seat available for the bout costs $4,575, according to TiqIQ. The average price is $11,311, almost $1,000 more than the average for this year’s Super Bowl.

After getting into the fight, finding a hotel room might seem like an afterthought. Many of the city’s most famous hotels, such as the Bellagio and Wynn, are sold out for that night, according to their websites. Others, like Caesars Palace, have rooms available for $799. At that point, splurging for a few cocktails and just heading back to the airport might be the best bet of the night.

#CharterKings of Instagram

Instagram is a social media network that is based solely on sharing pictures, many of which are enhanced using built in filters to make shared images even more aesthetically pleasing.  Unlike Facebook and Twitter, where user routinely let their friends and followers know what they eat for breakfast, when they are going to the gym and how angry their daily commute is making them, Instagram exists solely to show interesting, beautiful or really cool images and nothing more.  Perhaps due to the lack of “fluff” and boring comments, Instagram has drawn in and retained some of most interesting users out of any social media network.  Among these, there is a group which we have come to label the #charterkings of Instagram who routinely post pictures of themselves boarding or flying on private jets and chartered aircraft.  While it is somewhat ironic that a “private” service is publicly posted so often, there is no doubt that these pictures draw a lot of attention and simply put; are just flat out cool.

The #Charterkings

Some of the #charterkings of Instagram, as you might expect, were already rich and or famous when they joined the social network.  Others have amassed a following and even become famous because of what they post on Instagram.  One such example is Actor, Astronaut, Pro Poker Player and all around playboy, Dan Bilzerian.  Aside from the stacks of cash, beautiful women, yachts, assault weapons and sports cars we all probably post on our social media accounts, Mr. Bilzerian has posted a number of different private jets on his Instagram feed, which no doubt, makes him one of the #charterkings of Instagram.

One of the more well know #charterkings of Instagram is famous hip-hop producer and husband of Alicia Keys, Swizz Beats.  From pictures of him next to helicopters to shots of his sitting on the steps of a Global Express, Swizz Beats proudly displays his choices of transportation.  Not only do you get to see what he flies on but there are some great shots of his kids flying in style.  He even posts shots of sleeping on chartered jets and what he’s eating for in-flight catering.  His over 680,000 followers just prove that everything is more interesting on a private jet.  Would you rather go to Instagram and SEE what Swizz is eating on his Gulfstream V or head to Facebook and READ about your second cousin’s new vegan recipe for oatmeal cookies?

Floyd Mayweather has never been one to be shy about his good fortune or the fortunes he has made so it should come as no surprise that he is one of the #charterkings of Instagram.  One video shows him and “The Money Team” being served by a flight attendant on a Boeing Business Jet or BBJ.  Anyone who knows about private jets knows the BBJ is one of the nicest private aircraft you can charter.  The private jet pictures may no be the only thing that has attracted his over 2.6 million followers.  Quotes like “Yachts, foreign cars or private jets TMT is making moves” certainly keep fans of the #charterkings coming back.

Another #charterking that may surprise some is PGA Golfer Dustin Johnson, who also happens to be engaged to Paulina Gretsky.  Aside from showing off his fiancé on his Instagram account, Johnson also likes to show off the aircraft he charters.  He often posts pictures showing the two of them together (alone) on a very nice private jet.  Perhaps combining two of his favorite things?  Whether it’s Paulina, a known internet showoff, rubbing off on him or just the allure of being a #charterking of Instagram, the private jet pictures are becoming more and more common on his account.

The #CharterKings of Instagram – Private Jets and Social Media

The Gulfstream G650 is one of the most luxurious private aircraft available on the market today. This business jet can carry 11-18 passengers, and costs around $65 million.

Interested in learning more about the companies and people who own a G650? Read on!

Starbucks – Howard Schultz

Starbucks is one of the most successful companies in America, so it’s no wonder that CEO Howard Schultz has access to a Gulfstream G650. When you run a company with a market capitalization of more than $82 billion, you’ve earned the right to a few luxuries!

Mr. Schultz, in particular, has been instrumental to the growth of the company, and is worth more than $2.9 billion. He was responsible for the founding and growth of Starbucks since the early ‘80s.

While he has recently resigned as the CEO of the company, and now only serves as an executive chairman alongside newly-named CEO Kevin Johnson, he is still essential to Starbucks and their continued operations.

Valeant Pharmaceuticals – Joseph Papa

Valeant Pharmaceuticals has been the subject of some controversy recently. There were allegations that Valeant, as well as hedge fund Pershing Square, run by Bill Ackman, were responsible for insider trading – and over the 2017 winter holidays, Valeant worked out a deal to pay $290 million in restitution to groups of shareholders. Pershing Square Will have to pay more than $190 million for their part of the insider trading settlement.

While the company may still be struggling, they are still lucky enough to hold onto their Gulfstream G650. At least their corporate lawyers will be traveling in style!

Apple – Laurene Powell Jobs

Laurene Powell Jobs, the wife of the late Steve Jobs, still has a Gulfstream G650. Apple, and Steve Jobs in particular, had a profound influence on our world. From the way we take photos, to how we interact with each other using smartphones and computers, it’s hard to overstate how revolutionary Mr. Jobs was to our modern world.

Though Mr. Jobs departed from us too soon, his private jet still remains with his wife, who can now use it as part of her philanthropic work, which primarily concerns environmentalism and immigration reform, among other social issues.

SpaceX/Tesla – Elon Musk

It should come as no surprise that the gadget-loving Elon Musk, head of both Tesla and SpaceX, has a pricey toy in the G650 Gulfstream private jet. But unfortunately, both SpaceX and Tesla are undergoing some major budget issues.

There are doubts that SpaceX will ever be profitable, and Tesla recently announced a recall of more than 123,000 Model S vehicles due to faulty steering components. So, it’s perhaps ironic that Musk can spare such a large sum for a private jet – while his companies struggle to forge a path into the future. For now, maybe he should consider a smaller plane, chartering his next flight – or even just flying first class!

Chartering A G650 Is Much Cheaper Than Owning It!

While owning a private jet is out of the question for most companies, chartering a G650 is quite a bit cheaper than owning one. In some cases, companies can charter one of these craft for less than $10,000/hour. So if you’re not quite on the level of Steve Jobs, Elon Musk, or the Starbucks CEO, you can still get into a Gulfstream – just don’t expect it to be cheap!

The Gulfstream G650 – And The Companies Who Own Them

President and Billionaire Donald Trump has a long history with Aviation and currently owns two private jets. This is not surprising given his net worth, and it is not something he has tried to keep a secret. In fact, if you were ever at the same airport as him you would know it. Much like his real estate, the Boeing 757-200 he owns is adorned with his last name ‘Trump’ in huge letters. He also owns a super mid-size jet Citation X, which is the fastest business jet on the market.

President Trump likely has more experience with private aviation than any other incoming Commander in Chief in history. It’s not that surprising that he has been very involved with Boeing and negotiations over the manufacture of the newest Air Force One. The Donald has voiced his concerns on Twitter about the cost of the aircraft. For security reasons, much of the technology that goes into Air Force One is kept secret and understandably so. Some people may be wondering if this would be the first AF1 with the President’s last name on the paint job? Will it be trimmed and fitted with gold all over the interior as his current Boeing jet is? Keep an eye on the future POTUS’ Twitter account, and you may find out.

While it is normal for the head of a large corporation to use private aircraft, one might say that Donald Trump is a bigger aviation buff than most. Combined with his campaign promises to keep manufacturing in the US can let us safely assume President Trump will be up to bat for the aviation industry. Aircraft manufacturers employ a great deal of people in the country. It will be interesting to see how the industry will benefit from Trump’s presidential term. Tax breaks are always expected when a Republican enters office and this Republican, we can assume, has many friends who own aircraft. Tax incentives for both ownership and manufacturing of aircraft passed on by Mr. Trump will ensure a prosperous future the aviation industry as a whole.
